This fine silver one ounce Maple Leaf coin commemorates the sacrifices made by Allied veterans on the 60th anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 1944 during the Second World War. This is the first double privy mark coin ever minted by the Royal Canadian Mint. To the left of the maple leaf stem, a privy mark of an Allied infantryman with a rifle, wading ashore at Normandy, is depicted. To the right appears the commemoration "D-Day 6-6-44 Jour-J".
