When Queen Elizabeth II acceded to the throne in 1952, the Canadian government required a seal to bring the authority of the monarchy to any official documents it might produce on behalf of The Queen. That seal, originally created by the Royal Canadian Mint, is replicated on this 14 karat collectable gold coin.
The Great Seal of Canada itself is made of specially tempered steel, measuring 12.7 cm across its diameter. It depicts an image of the Queen holding the orb and scepter while sitting in the coronation chair, wearing St. Edward's Crown, with Canada's coat of arms at her feet.
All collectable coins have been previously owned. Conditions will vary.
