Les Voltigeurs de Québec, the First French Canadian Regiment, was founded in 1862. This sterling silver collectable coin honours this historic military group. For over one hundred years, Les Voltigeurs de Québec has distinguished itself during the North-West Rebellion of 1885, two World Wars, the Korean War, and in modern peacekeeping missions. Also noteworthy is the regiment's military band which played "O' Canada" on June 24, 1880, the first time Canada's national anthem was heard.
