Canadian armed forces joined the allied forces in September 1939 with over 58,000 Canadians enlisting and serving with conviction and honour. This fine silver collectable coin honours the sacrifice of those men and women and commemorates the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, which occurred on May 8, 1945. In total, over one million Canadians fought for freedom in World War II and just over half of them returned home.
