A collaboration between The Royal Canadian Mint and Canada Post has produced this collectable fine silver coin and stamp set featuring the Atlantic walrus (Odobenus rosmarus rosmarus) with its calf in their natural habitat. The Atlantic walrus is known for its commanding presence, long whiskers, and ivory tusks. Its tusks are used when foraging for food on the ocean floor and to break sea ice and climb out of the water. Walruses prefer to spend most of their time on sea ice in small groups known as haulouts, where they can reproduce, rest, and socialize.
