This fine silver collectable coin celebrates the significance of the Tyee, also known as the King salmon, to the Indigenous people of Canada and is highlighted with rose and yellow gold plating. Since time immemorial, salmon have been an essential food source for the Northwest Coast Indigenous people. The salmon was highly symbolic as the “giver of life” and special reverence was held for the largest species, the Tyee.
