This fine silver collectable coin features an Inuit woman with her baby looking over her shoulder from inside the hood of her amauti, brought to life though the use of selective rose and yellow gold plating. The amauti has been a fixture in Inuit life for centuries and is still common today, providing close physical contact between parent and child. The amauti is a parka ingeniously designed for that purpose. It has a large hood and pouch to carry a baby and free up a busy mother’s hands; and loose shoulders so the child can easily be moved from the back to the front.
