This pure gold ultra high relief collectable coin recreate the Grandmother Moon mask, by Indigenous artist Richard Cochrane. Red cedar wood was used to carve the actual wooden moon mask and that texture is illustrated in fine detail. To many Indigenous peoples, the moon is a sacred symbol. Because it brightens the darkness and rules the tides, the moon is seen as a powerful protector, grandmother, and matron of the earth.
