This two ounce fine silver collectable coin celebrates the 75th anniversary of Batman and his debut as a DC Comics superhero. Batman first emerged from the shadows of Gotham City to become the world's most popular DC Super Hero on the pages of Detective Comics #27. The character proved so successful, that within one year, the first comic book devoted exclusively to the Caped Crusader's adventures, Batman #1 hit the newsstands. In that issue, Batman battled the Joker and Catwoman for the first time.
