The glorious Canadian maple and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, captured on either side of this pure gold collectable coin, are two Canadian icons that have symbolized our country and our collective sense of identity for decades. The third portrait of the Queen to appear on coinage was the one displayed on the obverse of this piece. This particular royal effigy, issued in 1990, is notable for the grand jewelled tiara and a beautiful string of pearls.
