A number of grotesques and gargoyles add fanciful flair to the outer walls of the Peace Tower. This ten ounce fine silver collectable coin features one of the keepers of parliament, the Lion, enhanced with gold plating. Found at the west side of the sandstone-lined ceremonial entrance, all who wish to enter must do so under the watchful eye of this fiercely regal animal guardian, standing at 1.8 metres tall. Standing guard with its unicorn counterpart, the lion Keeper of Parliament holds the Arms of Canada and the Royal Arms in it's paws.
