This sterling silver collectable coin celebrates the 90th anniversary of Canada's 1911 silver dollar, the most valuable Canadian coin known and one of the greatest mysteries in the numismatic world. Only three examples of the 1911 dollar exist, two sterling silver trial strikes and one lead strike. Of the three known examples, only one is in private hands, which sold for over one million dollars in 1998. Another is on display at the Currency Museum, Bank of Canada, in Ottawa, as is the lead strike which, amazingly, didn't reappear until 1977 when it was found in a government vault.
All collectable coins have been previously owned. Conditions will vary.
