This fine silver collectable coin with gold plating commemorates the historic Battle of Neuve-Chapelle, which occurred during a vicious few days in March of 1915. The initial early morning offensive lasted only two hours, ending with the British capture of Neuve-Chapelle, but the battle was drawn out for days due to destruction of British communication lines, and a shortage of ammunition for the Allied forces. In the end, the Allies had gained a 2-kilometre advance, but at the cost of 12,892 Allied men including 100 Canadians.
