This fine silver collectable coin with colour celebrates the 2000 Olympic Games hosted in Sydney, Australia, and features the native echidna and tea tree. Echidnas, sometimes known as spiny anteaters, are quill-covered, egg-laying mammals that are usually black or brown in coloration. They have short, strong limbs with large claws, and are powerful diggers and capable swimmers. Millie, one of the three Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Mascots, was inspired by the echidna. The tea tree is a small paperbark tree with narrow leaves and five-petal flowers. Some species contain an essential oil that is recognized internationally for its antiseptic properties.
