This fine silver collectable coin commemorates the Canadian invasion of Sicily in July of 1943. Dubbed “Operation Husky”, the invasion marked the start of the Allies' Italian Campaign, designed to strike at the vulnerability of the Axis. For Canada, the Invasion of Sicily has added significance: this was the Canadian army’s first large-scale campaign in the Second World War, and it performed admirably.
